The new Praxis page is up because I find it extremely distressing that none of the supposed Socialist parties in the US Empire, whatever they may call themselves, don't really do anything more than just release statements. I want to do better than them. For now, it's just some Gaza fundraising, as—other than some local Marxist-Leninist education I've been providing to a handful of people and some discussions with another handful of comrades across the Empire—I'm not really sure what I can actionably do.
If anyone has any ideas for collective campaigns we can do together, whether this be economic or otherwise, please do tell me. Had I more influence I might suggest building a new party that actually tangibly demonstrates it fights for the working class, but between my internet and IRL spaces I only speak to ~600 people.
I'm legitimately sick and tired of watching the National Secretary of the SPUSA (Socialist Party USA) write his party's newsletter (he confirmed to me in an email that he is, in fact, the only author, and that he doesn't take submissions), and additionally write his party's statements, while the party has approximately the same amount of members as I have online followers and does absolutely jack shit.
The RCA (Revolutionary Communists of America, not to be confused with RevCom (Revolutionary Communist Party, i.e. Cult of Bob Avakian)) seems to be a better option, as they at least participate in public protests and try to shy away from Democratic Socialism (the modern development of the very same Social Democratic movement Vladimir fucking Lenin criticized in What Is To Be Done?[?]), something the SPUSA claims to do on paper, and the National Secretary and Chairman of the SPUSA Labour Board have both told me they despise the DSA (Democratic Socialists of America) for this exact reason—and yet that's the only thing they actually do.
Even their website has recently been altered to reflect that they fight for Democratic Socialism, and their recently set-up BlueSky page is almost exclusively following DSA and SPUSA party members and groups. The implication is clear: they are their own criticisms, or put into the phrasing of Lenin—a blunting of the social contradictions; an appendage of the liberals—but from what I can tell, the RCA suffers from the same issue of only statements, just with non-violent protests slapped on top. What are any of the modern, "Socialist," parties actually doing?
NOTHING.
I have yet to see a single party walk in the same footsteps as the Black Panthers, who provided both education and food to the poor, and actively demonstrated that they fought for the workers. I want to build a better party, one that actually does something, and one that defines itself neither in opposition to America (and consequently always referring to it, making it irrelevant post-America) nor in reverence to it (as the SPUSA is, as the National Secretary has implied in his emails where he considers Marxist-Leninist groups to be anti-American), but instead one that defines itself on what it can be, on what it WILL be.
I want to work with Comrades to build a new federation, where each member state and anarchocommune can function autonomously within the global Socialist rights protocols in something far more functional than the currently purely symbolic United Nations—the Socialist Republic of Sol, a global Socialist federation in which various Socialist member states and anarchocommunes are free to exercise their forms of Communism, provided they adhere to the global Socialist human rights as agreed to by the global forum.
I additionally understand that when the US Empire inevitably falls—something I predict will likely happen within the decade, and something local comrades have been predicting may happen by the 2026 midterms—it will likely split into a dozen or so independent nations vying for control. And to that effect, I understand that whatever nation I become a part of, it cannot be in itself that global government—it must only be part of it.
But of the more immediate importance: if I'm to call myself a Communist, even if I write theory myself, and even if I spend much of my time labouring at a physically exhausting job, I understand that that means it's my responsibility not just to organize, but also to mobilize. And in that more immediate need, I can only think of two things: to directly promote people in Gaza who need help, and to ask for thoughts from others.
I'll admit that I've yet to create a Protonmail for this effort, but despite my apparent inability to respond until this time tomorrow, I'll read any comments that are left. I should probably make that soon. We need a vanguard party.
